Smudged lipstick, too dark eyes – we tell you what you should better do without during the bridal make-up and how you manage the PERFECT look.

Lipstick, complexion, rouge – now EVERYTHING has to be perfect

All eyes on the bride! It goes without saying that everything must fit perfectly now. Dress, hair, make-up. Regardless of whether the bride puts on her own make-up or books a make-up artist, the make-up for brides must of course last the whole day and evening!

Long Lasting products are designed to be highly pigmented and therefore cover reliably, waterproof mascara is logical anyway and the foundation should be carefully applied with primer and concealer, loose powder and make-up fixing spray.

Tip: Be sure to put concealer in your handbag so that you can quickly dab on any small bumps or redness. Match rouge, eye shadow and lip colour harmoniously! Also combine the nail polish colour.

Audrey-Hepburn-Lookalike: Apply Eyeliner

Elf-like, tender and beautiful – this is how brides want to look on their wedding day. Important for the look: a perfectly drawn eyeliner. We know that on such a day it is not easy to make up – especially when you want to make up your bridal make-up yourself. But even if you’ve booked a make-up artist, you should think about beforehand which eyeliner suits your eye shape, how thick it should be applied or which shape it should have. We’ll tell you everything you need to know in our eyeliner special!

Highlighter for the Highlight Day

Sure, the bride wants to shine today. The much conjured Glow has to come here. For a radiant complexion, you should choose products with shiny particles and place highlights on the cheeks and under the eyebrows. Special highlighters are available as stick, in liquid texture, as powder and cream powder. With the strobing make-up technique you get a really pretty Glow! If you want to apply rouge for contouring, you will find the right tips in our video.

Eye shadow? Gives the view depth!
Where does the eye shadow actually go? That depends on the shape of the eyes.

If you have drooping eyelids, you should set your eye shadow differently than someone who has a round or deep eye.

If you want to give your gaze more depth, you should set a darker tone in the eyelid crease.

To keep it as long as possible (moisture quickly accumulates in the eyelid crease and the pigments of the eye shadow like to settle there), you should apply a primer and powder the eyelid crease well beforehand.

In our video we tell you how eye shadow lasts especially long. We’ll also show you how to make your eyes bigger, how to make up Smokey Eyes, or how to emphasize your eyes sexy with the banana.

Foundation? The perfect foundation makes the complexion flawless
The most important thing when choosing a foundation is the colour. It really has to be right. That’s why a professional consultation in a perfumery is definitely worthwhile, because there you can also try out different products and see how they behave on your skin and how high the opacity is. You should pay attention to this when applying the foundation:

Anyone who knows skin impurities or irritations and is afraid of permanently glowing red with excitement on their wedding day should choose a foundation that is more highly pigmented and covers reliably.
A primer ensures that the product lasts longer on the skin and makes the complexion look even more even.
Special fixing sprays want to make the make-up durable all day long and can be sprayed over the finished make-up. Attention: Do not hold too close to the face, otherwise too much liquid will arrive on the face and the make-up will run the risk of smudging.
We’ll tell you exactly how to find the right shade for your foundation!
If you need less covering, you can also use a light liquid make-up or a CC cream. The application – whether with fingers, brushes or a sponge/beauty blender – is a matter of taste.

Lipstick – which one should it be? And how does it last the longest?
Should it be your favourite lipstick or a long-lasting classic red one? Or would you rather have a delicate nude tone so that the bride doesn’t leave any traces? What is important:

If you decide on a strong colour for your lips, you should pay attention to a few things so that the lips are drawn exactly into shape and keep the colour for a long time.
The skin of the lips should be as smooth as possible, i.e. you should do a peeling the evening before. Mix a little sugar and olive oil and gently rub the lips with it. Or massage with a toothbrush.
There are special transparent primers (lip primers), so that the lipstick holds maximum.
It also makes sense to use a lip contour pencil to prevent the colour from leaking into the lip wrinkles.
Apply the lipstick once, preferably with a brush, because it can also fill fine lip lines.
As a general rule, lip varnish and matt colours last the longest.
Dab again with a paper towel between the layers and apply transparent powder. Then carefully apply again.

Better not: You should renounce it.
Sure. You want to be beautiful on the most beautiful day of your life. We’ll show you which beauty cups you’d better leave out and what you can do to say “Yes” in a radiant and beautiful way. The Do’s and Don’ts at the bridal make-up.

Less is more: especially on your wedding day. Don’t use too much make-up or too bright colours. The bridal make-up should look natural and fit the type. So don’t try any experiments and don’t forget the waterproof mascara!

Tips for bridal make-up: fabulous complexion

Would you rather wear a breathtaking white dress than white legs at your wedding? Of course. And such a white dress also shines much better on a slightly tanned complexion. Nevertheless – or just because of that: do without sunbathing and solarium shortly before the Day of Days. This stresses the skin and can lead to redness. A porcelain-white bridal stone is magical. Experiments with self-tanners should also be approached with caution, we’ll tell you what you need to bear in mind if you want to get a tan out of the tube.

Bridal make-up tips: the right lip color
Bright red is currently very popular, preferably in poppy or cherry. On the piste, not in front of the altar. Brides should rather do without it, because: First of all, you have to be really damn smart about make-up to keep the lipstick in place (with loose powder). And secondly, red paint doesn’t look very dressing on the dress, veil, teeth or cheeks of the wedding guests.

Better to use soft rosΓ© or noodle tones. This is much more beautiful and supple to creamy white.

Tips for bridal make-up: No smokey eyes!
If you’re not planning a motto wedding on the theme of “Twilight”, then it’s better for a bride to avoid dark cat’s eyes. For a party (it’s always dark there!) a mysterious dark eye make-up is exactly the right thing, but not to say yes. The contrast to the snow, cream or champagne wedding dress would be much too hard. It would be better to use bright, bright tones, for example rosΓ© or beige gold. Chroming is definitely an issue!

Tips for bridal make-up: beautiful nails

That the fingernails of a bride should be freshly manicured, we don’t need to stress here, do we? French nails are always beautiful. A beauty don’t: Long claws or nail art.

And please don’t forget your feet – especially with open bridal shoes! Or just when you’re dancing at a late hour, wiping off the closed bridal shoe. As a bride you have to be prepared for every situation.

Allowed colours: all shades of pink, beige, transparent and solid shades of red. Please don’t be too loud.

Tips for hair styling

Especially for the hair: not at the last minute. Try out the right styling beforehand with the hairdresser of your choice. Remember, no day in your life will you be photographed as often as at your wedding. And with some planning you can avoid nasty photo surprises. To make sure your hair shines beautifully, treat them to a nurturing treatment once a week in the weeks leading up to the wedding – if you can find enough time during the preparation stress. On the big day itself shine spray helps for mirror-smooth hair. Here we show you the most beautiful wedding hairstyles.

Please don’t: Men’s winklers, also popular as corkscrew lilies
We know those saucy curls around the face are still popular. Nevertheless, we think that men’s winklers were already out in the 80s – and haven’t come back since. There are so many prettier and more modern bridal hairstyles that don’t bring with them the “risk of chutes”. Here we show bridal hairstyles for every type.

Tips for bridal make-up: flowers in the hair

Get married as a flower girl – preferably on a forest meadow, barefoot. Great idea! Just remember that not all flowers are suitable for a bridal hairstyle. Vetches flowers are quite charmingly filigree, but wither after one hour without water. More durable are gypsophila or orchids.

Tips for bridal make-up: Avoid blushing
Even if it should be a winter wedding or in June when the sheep are cold, don’t take a hot shower just before you slip into your dress – Rotalarm for a nervous skin costume!

By the way, this also applies to too salty food the evening before – the lymph could swell, thick eyes would be the unattractive consequence (#nosushi).

Tips for bridal make-up: No scarce lingerie

For the under-under, don’t squeeze into lingerie that’s too tight – that’s what you’ll notice if the bridal gown isn’t optimally lined. It’s best to wear seamless lingerie – no drawing, no squeezing and tugging. Figure shapers are also great, so that even a small belly base is not noticeable at all.
